Taiwan Mobile Introduces Capped Data Plan in Taiwan

Taiwan Mobile announced on July 13, 2011 the launch of a capped data plan, becoming the first telecom operator in Taiwan to provide data plan with limited bandwidth and transmission speed, according to the Commercial Times of Taiwan. As per the new data plan, subscribers are able to enjoy 21Mbps of data transmission speed and 5GB of data per month, and subscribers exceeding the allocated 5GB cap will see transmission speed drop to 14Mbps. China Mobile also said that the company plans to invest approximately NT$6.8 billion (US$236.1 million; US$1=NT$28.8) in expanding mobile network infrastructure in the next four years.
